Gregory Walter Seifried, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his home in Glenshaw. He had been fighting an unexpected battle with cancer.


Greg was born in Pittsburgh on May 23, 1959, to Marie (Richetti) Seifried and the late Walter Seifried. He is survived by his wife Arlene (Perry) Seifried, daughter Erica Seifred (James) Byers, son Christopher Seifried, and grandsons James, Nolan, and Parker Byers. Greg is also survived by his sister Donna Seifried (Daryl) Krausa and brother Steve (Dawn) Seifried; niece Elizabeth Seifried and nephew Steven Seifried.


Greg attended Peabody High School, class of 1978, where he played varsity football. He also graduated with an Associate's degree from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He recently retired from his 30-year career at Pittsburgh Regional Transit, where he was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 85. There he worked as a mechanic and eventually transitioned to emergency services. Greg had a great love for sports. He was a member of the St. Bonaventure golf league for many years. He also coached baseball for Shaler Township youth leagues De Haven and Braun Jeffery. In his spare time, Greg enjoyed working on cars and flying radio-controlled airplanes.


Gentle, kind, generous and loving, Greg was adored by everyone. He loved


spending time with his family, especially for every Steelers game, and enjoyed making everyone laugh. Greg will be greatly missed by all. Friends will be received at BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mount Royal Blvd., Glenshaw on Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church on Monday at 10:00 AM.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
